Leveraged Staking

Right now AVAX on YieldYak is the sole staking option on DeltaPrime. This supply will increase at launch in November.

High stakes

Staking is the process of locking up coins in order to secure a blockchain running on a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. As crypto-terminology is changing, more and more protocols start referring to staking as simply locking up tokens in exchange for interest (APY). In this sense, depositing funds on DeltaPrime can be seen as staking. When we refer to staking, we will also refer to the temporary lock-up of tokens on a platform.
In DeFi, new staking opportunities pop up all the time. Due to the modularity of DeltaPrime, these new opportunities can be integrated in a matter of days to weeks. Active investors can benefit from this, by staking borrowed funds, essentially "arbitraging" staking opportunities, without any price risk. The passive investor knows that due to this arbitrage opportunities, a significant amount of funds will be borrowed increasing their APY to a number near the best staking rewards. All of this is done for him, without having to keep track of every new staking possibility. Of course, leveraged staking creates several other opportunities for investors, some of which are explained in investing strategies.
Meanwhile, Integrated protocols benefit from the additional Total Value Locked (TVL) this leverage brings.

Staking interface

The Staking section of your portfolio shows a variety of data.

Here you see the platforms (the protocols) you can stake assets in. When you invest in one of the assets in a protocol, you are exposed the asset as well as to that protocol. Make sure you DYOR. Links to every protocol are included at the list of integrated protocols.

The Asset shows the asset (token or coin) you can stake here. If you don't have the specific asset, you can buy it in the trading part of the portfolio.

The Total Value Locked (TVL) shows the amount in dollars, that has been locked up on that platform. This includes, but is not exclusive to, the amount locked through DeltaPrime. The higher the TVL, the more stable the yield tends to be.

The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is the amount of the asset that would be added to your position after a full year of staking, given that all variables remain equal. APY is not everything, as especially in crypto, all variables tend to change over time. If you don't want to actively manage your portfolio, you might want to consider depositing in the liquidity pool of DeltaPrime. The max APY shows the maximum APY available on that platform.

The amount under Staked shows the amount you have personally put into the asset. This is shown in the native token. This in contrast to Total staked which shows the total amount you have staked into a protocol. As this is spread out over different assets, it is calculated in the dollar value.

This shows how much of the asset you have free to stake into the protocol.

How to stake

In order to stake an asset, you first need to make sure you have the asset available in your portfolio. If you don't have the asset, you can buy it through trading. Once you have the asset, you will see a number under available. In this case, I have 10 AVAX available to stake. By pressing the + button all the way at the right of the row, the asset staking view will appear. Here you can type in the amount you want to stake, press stake and accept the MetaMask transaction.
